With the economy on an ever increasing downhill slide the word and the idea of a staycation has seen to really catch on with many of the people who live in our communities. Well this past weekend our family took a little staycation by running down to New Braunfels, TX and taking in a day at Schlitterbaun Water Park and all the fun surroundings of the New Braunfels area. We had a great time with the kids playing in the water, hanging out and pretty much taking a couple of days to live schedule free. We have moved into the stage of life where the kids want to try to out do Dad in the area of being daring and tough and of course I play along only to be reminded the next morning that I am not 25 anymore. Wow, what happened and why does my body feel this way? However, the older I get, the more I realize that these little nuggets of time and memories with our kids are irreplaceable. As we come down to the last week of summer vacation and the last week of sanity before the business of the school year starts, I encourage you to take some time with the kiddos and make some memories that last a lifetime. And oh yea, you don't have to spend thousands of dollars to create those memories. Make and take that time because that TIME will soon be gone.
